Learning about Family Reconstruction and being inside one are two different things. Reading about it, even studying it closely, doesn't prepare you for what happens when a system comes alive in the room—the shifts that unfold in real time, the way presence itself shifts everything, the moments when someone sees themselves differently.
This three-day gathering puts you in the room for exactly that. You'll witness a complete Family Reconstruction process unfold, co-facilitated by Jean McLendon, Regina Taggart, and Reiss Powell. But this isn't only about the star's transformation—it's about yours. Whether you're watching from the room or serving as a role-player, you'll be doing deep work on yourself. You'll feel what gets activated. You'll see what the process reveals. You'll leave with new insights about your own patterns, your own system, your own capacity to hold complexity and presence.
At the same time, the facilitators teach. After key moments, Jean, Regina, and Reiss pause to reflect, explain their choices, and answer questions. You get to watch master practitioners think out loud—to understand not just what happened, but how and why. You'll see how they read a system in real time, how they lead from a half-step behind (following the system's own unfolding rather than directing it), how they hold multiple truths at once, how they guide someone toward seeing themselves differently. That knowledge becomes yours to carry into your own practice.
A star is selected prior to the event. The role-players are selected during the process itself (with permission). Whether you're in the center of the room or witnessing from the edges, you're part of what's alive here. You're changed by it.
This is intentionally small so there's room for everyone to be fully present. Room to feel. Room to learn. Room to integrate what you're experiencing.

Whether or not you ever guide a Family Reconstruction yourself, being in this room will shift how you understand systems, presence, and what's possible when people are truly seen—starting with yourself.

This is an educational and experiential training, not a substitute for therapy. Family Reconstruction is an intimate and at times intense process. Instructor Bios
Jean A. McLendon, LCSW, LMFT, learned Family Reconstruction from Virginia Satir herself, working alongside her for nearly two decades before going on to teach the model internationally for over 40 years. As longtime Director of Training for the Virginia M. Satir Center, she has guided more live reconstructions than almost anyone practicing today. Jean brings a rare, direct lineage to this process — she isn't teaching a technique she learned about, she's carrying one she learned inside.
Regina Taggart, LSCW, is a distinguished licensed clinical social worker with 30 years of experience and a leading Satir trainer who has taught the Satir Growth Model extensively around the world. Renowned for her deep clinical expertise and dynamic teaching presence, Regina brings passion, precision, and profound insight to facilitating Family Reconstructions and mentoring practitioners globally.
Reiss Powell, LCSW, LCAS is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist who has been studying the Satir Growth Model since 2012 and is a current member of the Virginia M. Satir Center Legacy Program. He is in private practice, specializing in addiction treatment and clinical work with adolescents and young adults. He is known for bringing authenticity, warmth, and humor into his clinical work.
