About This Session
This is where the process becomes visceral. The star steps into a living recreation of their family of origin — and for the first time, gets to witness, feel, and interact with their childhood world as their grown-up self. Parents appear as full human beings, carrying their own histories and wounds. Long-held dynamics play out in real time. And the star — no longer a child without agency — can confront inequities, speak to unspoken truths, and offer healing to the parts of themselves that have waited a long time to be seen.
It is a profound experience. Not only for the star, but for everyone in the room.
Jean and Regina use Jean's recorded Family Reconstruction as the teaching text — guiding you through this final, integrative movement and what it takes to hold this kind of transformation with skill and care.
What You'll Do
Through video observation, instruction, and group dialogue, you'll explore:
☑️ How the family-of-origin sculpt integrates the maternal and paternal work
☑️ How roles and rules are distributed across the family system
☑️ What it looks like when the reconstruction moves into transformation — and how to hold it
☑️ The facilitator's role in the final arc: integration, meaning-making, closure
☑️ How this work prepares both you and your clients for the live reconstruction experience
About Family Reconstruction
In the Satir Growth Model, Family Reconstruction is a structured, experiential process that helps people understand and transform the patterns they inherited from their family of origin. The family-of-origin segment is the integrative heart of reconstruction — where the full picture emerges, and where the deepest shifts become possible.
